Our Swiss U20 Team had a very impressive summer!
The Swiss U20 National Lacrosse Team has demonstrated significant athletic development and competitive progress during its recent international summer tour, establishing a strong foundation ahead of the upcoming Scheider Cup in Frankfurt, Germany.
The team initiated its summer campaign in April at the Kehoe Open in Manchester, England. Serving as the tournament’s sole true U20 roster, the Swiss squad faced advanced physical and tactical challenges against senior university programs and national selections from Wales, Scotland, and England. Despite the age and experience gap, the weekend served as a vital developmental catalyst, accelerating roster cohesion and positional skills.
This momentum carried into July at the Berlin Open, where the Swiss team secured a notable opening-day victory against a highly experienced Bulgarian national squad. While that victory stood as the competitive highlight of the weekend, the tournament further validated the program’s strategic focus on playing younger athletes against mature international competition to build long-term confidence.
The program is now shifting its focus to the Scheider Cup, scheduled for October 3–4, 2026, in Frankfurt. Unlike previous events, this tournament strictly features peer-aged U20 international programs, offering an even playing field for the emerging Swiss roster. I invite everyone to travel to Frankfurt to support the team, as well as enjoy the local Octoberfest festivities. Our Swiss U20 Team is on the rise, and this is helping to build the sport throughout the country.
