Diesen Sommer findet vom 29. Juni β 9. Juli die Damen Lacrosse WM in Towson, Maryland, USA mit Schweizer Beteiligung statt. Dies wird das fΓΌnfte Grossevent fΓΌr uns, nach drei EM- (2012, 2015, 2019) und einer WM-Teilnahme (2017) bis dato.
Mit der Teilnahme an der WM im Ursprungsland unserer geliebten Sportart Lacrosse geht fΓΌr uns alle ein riesengrosser Traum in ErfΓΌllung und erfΓΌllt uns alle mit Stolz. FΓΌr dieses Abenteuer trainieren wir seit Monaten sehr hart und mit viel Einsatz und Leidenschaft. Dabei unterstΓΌtzen uns unsere Coaches Nora und Shannon aus den USA tatkrΓ€ftig und mit viel Know-how, da beide vollberufliche Lacrosse Coaches sind. Lokal halten Meg, Mike und Chris als Assistant Coaches alle FΓ€den zusammen und fΓΌhren die Training Camps durch.
Ein bis zwei Mal im Monat treffen wir uns im Nationalteam Camp, um gemeinsam an unserem Zusammenspiel, unserer Strategie, unseren SpielzΓΌgen und unseren StΓ€rken/SchwΓ€chen zu arbeiten. Bei diesen Camps stehen aber nicht nur die spielerischen Leistungen im Mittelpunkt, sondern auch der Teamzusammenhalt. Denn wir sind mehr als ein Team β Wir sind eine Familie. Neben diesen regelmΓ€ssigen ZusammenkΓΌnften trainieren wir neben Beruf, Studium und Familie noch zusΓ€tzlich mindestens fΓΌnfmal die Woche in den sechs lokalen Clubs. Dabei wird neben Ausdauer, Stick Skills und Agility auch Kraft trainiert.
Auf jede Spielerin kommen rund CHF 6’000.- Kosten zu. Diese beinhalten sΓ€mtliche Kosten fΓΌr die Teilnahme an der WM in den USA. Des Weiteren jedoch auch die GebΓΌhren fΓΌr die Vorbereitungsturniere in Oslo und Verona, fΓΌr unser Equipment, den Transport, Platzmieten fΓΌr die Camps, die FlΓΌge der Coaches, deren UnterkΓΌnfte am Austragungsort und die Γbernahme weiterer Spesen. Da Lacrosse in der Schweiz noch immer eine Randsportart ist und die Finanzierung grΓΆsstenteils von uns selber getragen wird, sind wir auf eure finanzielle UnterstΓΌtzung angewiesen.

Back to the roots! We are playing in the home of Lacrosse, truly a dream come true!
This summer we are heading to the Womenβs Lacrosse World Championships, taking place from 29th June to 9th July in Towson, Maryland in the U.S. Thus, being our fifth time at an international event after three Europeans in 2012, 2015, 2019 and one Worlds back in 2017.
Participating at the World Cup in the home of our beloved sport Lacrosse, is a huge dream come true and a real honor for each and every one of us. For months we have been practicing very hard for this adventure. Everyone in the team is committed and very passionate about our program. Our coaches Nora and Shannon from the U.S., both experienced full-time Lacrosse coaches, are leading us with a lot of know-how. In Switzerland our assistant coaches Megan, Mike and Chris are holding the strings together and are running the practice camps on the weekends.
Once or twice a month we gather in practice camps to work together on our strategy, plays, our strength and weaknesses, and teamwork. However, at these camps we are not only focusing on our performance but also on team bonding. We are more than a team, we are a family. We stand as a whole. In addition to these regular get-togethers, every player also works individually on strength, conditioning, stick skills besides attending practice in their local Lacrosse Clubs (from which we have six) here in Switzerland. All while juggling between work, studies and family.
Each player will have to face costs of around 6’000 Swiss Francs. This includes all costs for participation at the World Cup in the U.S. Furthermore, it covers the fees for the prep-tournaments in Oslo and Verona, our equipment, team gear, transport, field rental for the camps, the coaches› flights, their accommodation at the venue and other expenses.
As Lacrosse is still a niche sport in Switzerland, we are largely responsible for financing this adventure all ourselves. For this reason, we depend on your financial support.
With your help we will be able to minimize the costs for each player. For this we are forever very thankful!
